We started in 2023 with our designer with one principle guiding us through - we want to celebrate the beautiful ingredients.

Even with all the delays and anxious thoughts, the launch of the rebrand happened at truly the right time. What fills our heart with joy is the response and support from our community 💚

My hair care journey has been pretty rough. From my scalp peeling to getting diagnosed with Alopecia Areata at 15 and being offered a steroid injection to solve things.

Before using steroids or minoxidil which have side effects, I decided to care for my scalp and try natural remedies first - after all, it wasn’t a life threatening disease.

And guess what, it worked like a charm. I applied ginger to my scalp religiously, made sure to oil and take care of my scalp. Most important I used a 100% plant based shampoo that includes ingredients like Laurel Leaf, Elephant Apple, and Soapnuts, that nourished my scalp the old fashioned way!

If there’s even one person out there who I can inspire to try things the plant-based way before grabbing some minoxidil, I’ll be happy a gal.

Just after COVID hit and we lost a lot of our international clients we considered closing down Conscious Living. The motivation to push through was slim.

Looking back we’re so happy we didn’t. There are so many people out there with severe allergies who are unable to use any other product. We owed it to them, the farmers, and ourselves to push through.

Today, we’re stronger than ever. Our products are recognized as being truly sustainable and it’s earned us a place at @nextopia.th - a project to showcase advancements in eco-friendly initiatives.

Jokes aside, my sister and I joined our mom at various fairs from the very beginning. Her passion was contagious and we quickly learned about the harms of the synthetic chemicals present in personal and home care products.

These magical products saved me from losing all my hair to alopecia areata, and the impact it had on farmers and the environment left my knowing in my heart that one day, I wanted to work with Conscious Living.

What’s your niche interest?
I was always drawn towards sustainability since high school. The various sustainability camps I joined were very much on a surface level. It lacked nuance and made me too idealistic. As I grew older I became more critical of things labled "sustainable". I start to question eco-friendly initiatives like electric cars and plant-based plastics that came with other sets of problems. All this was around the time my mom started Conscious Living. As I was already living in the north, I would accompany her to meet the villagers - see first hand how these products had a positive impact not just on their health & livelihood but the environment & the community as a whole.
